Privacy notice for applicants

We’re pleased that you’re interested in working for us and are applying or have applied for a position at our company. In the following, we would like to inform you of how your personal data is processed in connection with your application.

What kind of data do we process? For what purposes?

We process the data you have sent us in connection with your application for the purpose of assessing your suitability for the position (or possibly other vacant positions at our company) and to carry out the application procedure.

What is the legal basis for this?

Your personal data for this application procedure is processed primarily in accordance with § 26 Federal Data Protection Act in the version of May 25, 2018. This stipulates that data may be processed that is necessary for hiring decisions.

Should, after the application process has ended, the data be required for legal proceedings, it may be processed pursuant to Art. 6 GDPR, in particular to pursue legitimate interests in accordance with Art. 6 Section 1 lit. f) GDPR. Our interest, in this case, is the assertion of or defense against claims.

How long is the data stored?

In the case of an unsuccessful application, applicant data is deleted after 6 months. If you have granted your consent to further storage of your personal data, we will file your data in our applicant pool. The data is deleted after two years. If your application is successful, your data from the applicant data system is transferred to our personnel information system.

Who else can access the data?

Once your application has been received, your applicant data is viewed by the Human Resources department. Suitable applications are internally forwarded to the department managers responsible for the vacant position. Further proceedings are then discussed. The only individuals at the company who can access your data are those who require it to properly perform our application procedure.

Where is the data processed?

The data is processed exclusively at server sites in the Federal Republic of Germany.

Your rights as “data subject“

You have the right to obtain information regarding data relating to your person. You may request this information from us at any time.

In the case of requests for information not made in writing, we ask for your understanding that we may ask you to present proof of your identity.

You additionally have the right to rectification or erasure, or restriction of processing provided the law entitles you to this.

Finally, you have the right to object to the processing of your information pursuant to the law. The same applies to the right to data portability.
